But it also send waves through local communities, organizations and regulation commissions who were and are concerned about the chemicals used in the process. Efforts are underway to provide more open information about the chemicals in fracking fluid, but that opennes comes with a price.

This past week saw the 150th anniversary of the signing of the Morrell Act--a groundbreaking piece of legislation that established land grand universities. This meant that for the first time, average people and not just the privileged elite could attend college. Fish Kill Follow-Up

On the heels of another fish kill in the same location, the Environmental Protection Agency has issued an interim study on the initial kill from last July that wiped out a massive amount of catfish in the Red River. The novel-sized report cites water and sediment samples from the area to draw conclusions on the fish kill that is leaving experts and laymen scratching their collective heads.
