WHILE WATER QUALITY IS A CONCERN IN EASTERN OKLAHOMA, WATER QUANTITY IS THE PROBLEM OUT WEST. MUCH OF THE STATE IS IN THE GRIP OF A DROUGHT OF HISTORIC PROPORTIONS. SEARING, UNRELENTING HEAT IS TAKING ITS TOLL. WHEAT CROPS IN WESTERN OKLAHOMA WERE NEARLY A TOTAL LOSS THIS SEASON AND DROUGHT CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TO CAUSE DAMAGES EXCEEDING 3-BILLION DOLLARS ACROSS OKLAHOMA AND TEXAS.
