The Future of Health Care in Oklahoma
States have until December 14th to decide whether to create their own health insurance exchanges under the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare. 16 states and the District of Columbia are setting up their own exchanges and five states are going to work with the federal government in doing it. States that don't establish their own system will see the federal government set one up for them. Oklahoma is one of those states. Governor Mary Fallin has turned thumbs-down on two key Obamacare provisions, the exchange and medicaid expansion, and today, we discuss what that decision means for health care in Oklahoma, with our guests: Julie Cox-Kain, Chief Operating Officer for the Oklahoma State Department of Health; Andrew Rice, former state senator and Executive Director of the Variety Care Foundation; Dr. David Holden, an orthopedic surgeon from Oklahoma City; and Dr. Boyd Shook, an internal medicine physician in Edmond.

Lessons From The Dust Bowl
While the entire country was suffering through the great depression, people in Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, New Mexico and Colorado faced an additional catastrophe - ferocious dust storms that brought financial ruin and death to the plains. The Oklahoma panhandle was the epicenter of the Dust Bowl. Those that survived nature's onslaught helped develop new techniques for conserving the land and rebuilding Oklahoma's agriculture. The Dust Bowl is the subject of Ken Burns' new documentary, airing nationally November 18th and 19th on PBS. Joining us to talk about the lessons learned from the dust bowl are Clay Pope, Executive Director of the Association of Oklahoma Conservation Districts; Mike Thralls, Executive Director of the Oklahoma Conservation Commission; and Dean Graumann, Director of the Greer County Conservation District.

On this episode of the ONR, we examine the results of Tuesday's election with an in-depth look at the candidates taking office and the ballot measures that passed or failed, and what they mean for the state. Campaigns mean campaign ads--a lot of them. We take a look at the ads dominating the airwaves, and how candidates are trying to reach voters via new media. The grades have been out for a few weeks, but the fallout from the new A-F school grading system released by the Oklahoma State Board of Education is still being realized. Plus, Oklahoma endangered species, the Dust Bowl and climate change, and more on this episode of ONR.

Election Review
The longest and costliest election cycle in American history is now over. When the bills are finally totaled, it's expected that more than six billion dollars will have been spent on campaigns this time around. And just what did all that time and money give us? We'll discuss that with our guests, dubbed the gang of four on election night on OETA: Patrick McGuigan, editor of CapitolBeatOK.com; Arnold Hamilton, editor of the Oklahoma Observer; Larry Stein, republican political analyst; and Ben Odom, former vice-chair of the Oklahoma Democratic Party.

It's no secret that Christian evangelicals have been a force in the world of politics since the 1950's, but what is not well-known is that the movement's influence was rallied in part in Tulsa due to the presence and clout of one man: Dr. Billy James Hargis. Recently, Tulsa-based paper This Land Press published an expose on Dr. Hargis and his political influence then and now. We spoke with the writer of that piece, TLP Contributing Editor Lee Roy Chapman.
