Sequester & Military Cuts

Featured in Top Stories

A last-minute deal to fund government for the next six months helped deflect a blow to the nation's--and Oklahoma's--military, which would have put civilian employees on furlough by next month. But many sequestration cuts are still in place, and Oklahoma is preparing for the impact.

Legislative Leaders: Oklahoma House of Representatives

The last few days have been quiet on the floors of the Oklahoma House and Senate - with only a few bills heard in both chambers. But, with less than two months left in the first regular session of the 54th Oklahoma Legislature, the sausage-making that is the legislative process grinds on. Joining us to discuss the latest at the capitol are leaders from the state House of Representatives. House Minority Leader Scott Inman, democrat from Del City. And Speaker Pro Tem Mike Jackson, republican from Enid, filling in for Speaker of the House T.W. Shannon, who was originally scheduled to be on the program but was unable to make it.
