Before joining the State Department, he served 31 years in the U.S. Army and was special assistant to General Powell when he was Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. while at the state department, Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson helped make the case for waging war in Iraq. Since leaving the Bush administration, he has been an outspoken critic of the war and American foreign policy in the region. Foreign Policy

Foreign policy was front and center in the final presidential debate. While most American voters remain focused on domestic issues, what happens on the international stage can quickly become any administration's primary concern. Whether it's trade, the environment or national security, international relations have a profound impact on u.s. policy, affecting all of us. So we discussed U.S. foreign policy with our guests: Mohamed Daadaoui, Associate Professor of Political Science at Oklahoma City University. Louis Furmanski, Chair of the Political Science Department at the University of Central Oklahoma. Peter Gries, Director of the Institute for U.S.-China Issues at the University of Oklahoma. And Mike Boettcher, ABC news correspondent and Correspondent in Residence at the OU Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication.

We hear some of those opinions in our latest 'Listen To Me' segment, in partnership with the PBS Newshour. This is an excerpt from the Oklahoma News Report.
