The last few days have been quiet on the floors of the Oklahoma House and Senate - with only a few bills heard in both chambers. But, with less than two months left in the first regular session of the 54th Oklahoma Legislature, the sausage-making that is the legislative process grinds on. Joining us to discuss the latest at the capitol are leaders from the state House of Representatives. House Minority Leader Scott Inman, democrat from Del City. And Speaker Pro Tem Mike Jackson, republican from Enid, filling in for Speaker of the House T.W. Shannon, who was originally scheduled to be on the program but was unable to make it.

In this episode, Oklahoma U.S. Representative Tom Cole lays out the local impact of sequestration. One group who will be impacted? A sole county in Oklahoma does not have its oil and natural gas operations regulated by the Oklahoma Corporation Commission. Mineral rights in Osage county are held in trust for the Osage Nation. That means drilling oversight falls to the Bureau of Indian Affairs, but many landowners don't feel the agency is doing it's job to protect the land.
