Aging drivers can represent a road hazard, but some law enforcement officials are helping families and drivers navigate the bumpy roads of elderly driving. Digitally isolated rural areas of the state may soon be jumping on the information super highway, thanks to a rural broadband initiative. Plus, Oklahoma's oldest producing oil well, peach harvests, and hometown legends, on this ONR.

School is out for summer for most, but Tulsa has been playing host to more than 600 teacher trainees earning their stripes--or perhaps rulers--working with Teach for America. The soon-to-be teachers are prepping for a monumental task: two years of teaching in low-income schools across the state. Some will remain in Oklahoma's borders, working to further Teach for America's goals of improving education and student achievement.

But it also send waves through local communities, organizations and regulation commissions who were and are concerned about the chemicals used in the process. Efforts are underway to provide more open information about the chemicals in fracking fluid, but that opennes comes with a price.

Low gross production tax collections are making the local economy sluggish, according to State Treasurer Ken Miller. The 42% drop marked collection declines from oil and natural gas producers for the seventh straight month. But Miller remains optimistic, emphasizing the cracks in one of Oklahoma's economic lodestones are offset by low unemployment and high sales.
