Governor Fallin announced a state of emergency for all 77 counties of Oklahoma due to extreme or exceptional drought, making it official: Drought has Oklahoma it it's clutches. As western parts of the state fall into the worst category of drought for the second year straight, the state bunkers down for the remaining summer months that promise nothing but heat, heat, heat.

Last summer, toxic blue-green algae blooms kept many vacationers out of the water--and away from Oklahoma lakes. Recently new blooms have begun to appear in some of Oklahoma's lakes. But new legislation is aimed at preventing algae panic--and preventing a blow to some towns' economies.

In this program, we'll meet Oklahomans who turned to legal system for help with a problem, and the lawyers who assisted them. We'll learn about an innovative program in Tulsa that assists families as they go through a divorce. Participants will explain why the help they received made a difference for their children, and why they believe the program should be expanded statewide. We'll talk to a couple who need a new roof after suffering a devastating Oklahoma hailstorm, only to discover that their insurance company was unwilling to pay their claim. We'll meet a man who found he had no place to live after he struggled to turn his life around after his release from prison. We'll update you on a program providing free legal assistance to military service members and veterans. And our studio audience will have their legal questions answered by a panel of legal experts.

The new members of the War Veterans Commission gathered for the first time last week, and one of the key items on the agenda was abuse in veterans centers as brought to light by an investigative report by the Journal Record and the ONR.
