The new Kids Count report is out, and while Oklahoma has moved up on the list, there's still room for improvement. Another report is stirring up state legislators, as a consultant group informs the Governor's office that she should accept federal aid and expand Medicaid. But many legislators are pushing for rescuing the soon-to-expire Insure Oklahoma plan. Something perhaps beyond saving? Southwestern Oklahoma's cotton crop, as the drought continues to scorch that corner of the state. And the student loan crises grows with the spike on interest rates for Stafford loans, further hindering outgoing college students.
