Wild turkeys were abundant in Franklin’s day, but did you know at one point in our history turkeys were almost extinct? Today, turkeys are the stars of our thanksgiving tables, and the object of obsession for one Oklahoma man.

Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant was one of the players who filed anti-trust lawsuits against the national basketball association on Tuesday. With the NBA player lockout now in its fifth month, the players say the league left them no other choice than to take their case to court. The two sides in this labor dispute are dug in, and the season hangs in the balance. We spoke with Myron Patton, sports director at Fox-25 in Oklahoma City and talk show host at KREF radio, about the impasse.

A whirlwind week in college athletics ended with the Presidents of the Big 12 conference universities agreeing to salvage the league. The move comes after at least four schools flirted with other leagues, and the Board of Regents at OU and OSU authorized their presidents to pursue other conference options. But, when the Pac-12 announced it has no plans to expand, the presidents of the Big 12 members fired Commissioner Dan Beebe and formed a committee to work out their differences and seek new members. Dick Pryor spoke with Jenni Carlson, sports columnist for the Oklahoman and news-ok.com about the stunning developments.
