The Memorial Day weekend isn't just a chance to revel in an extra day off from work. First and foremost, it's a day to honor those who have served their country. In 2007, ONR host Dick Pryor spoke with World War II veteran Harry Furr about his experiences as a glider pilot, and his first day on the job--in Normandy on D-Day. Furr passed away on Wednesday, May 23rd. He may be gone, but his service and sacrifice will not be forgotten.

For more than fifty years, Bob Barry delivered play-by-play of collegiate sports in Oklahoma. He was the voice of OU and OSU football, and OU, OSU and Tulsa University basketball. In his long career at KFOR-TV, he won fifteen Sportscaster of the Year awards. Among his colleagues and legion of fans he became known as "the legend." Bob Barry died on October 29th, just seven months after retiring as "voice of the Sooners." Three years ago, in an interview for our "television pioneers" program, big bob discussed his broadcasting career.

He spoke at Oklahoma City University this week, and while he was here, Dick Pryor spoke with him about his new show.
