For military veterans returning home with head injuries, cures have remained elusive. But advances in medical technology are giving veterans a chance to move forward with their lives. Last year, lawmakers worked to pass 'smart on crime' initiatives, but a year later finds those initiatives unfounded and and its future uncertain. In this week's ONR, Oklahoma's murder rate reached near-record highs in 2012, while Oklahoma's other major metro area, Tulsa, was at lower rate than usual. We look at what's causing the disparity in numbers, and what's being done to prevent violent deaths across the state. The Pinnacle Plan meant to restructure the Oklahoma Department of Human Services went into effect last July, but it still has a ways to go to be fully implemented. Multiple Sclerosis can strike anyone at anytime, but a cure remains elusive. While drugs are available to slow the disease's progression, the cost remains out of reach for some. Plus, the Supreme Court steps into one of Oklahoma's ongoing water wars, Organizational Day, and a look at a historic Tulsa building, on this ONR.
