Accounts of inter-human transplants involving third century saints Damian and Cosmas are commonly thought to be apocryphal and only part of Roman Catholic mythology. None-the-less, such accounts do exist.
This edition of the OETA award-winning documentary series Stateline fast-forwards to modern day Oklahoma organ and cell donation and transplantation issues.
The state is home to at least 525 souls per day waiting for organ, tissue, or cell donations. Oklahoma is also home to nationally recognized and acclaimed transplant institutes and pioneers in various research prolonging life.
Stateline gives viewers a non-politicized look at the hope of today and the hope of the future for lives better lived, and the lives of the loved ones who share those lives and hopes.
