Oklahoma Sheriffs, Drug Agents, and Police say methamphetamine is the state’s biggest problem. No other drug has filled the state’s prisons or destroyed more lives than meth. In fact, four out of five children in Oklahoma’s foster care system have been taken away from meth addicted parents. Meth is instantly addictive and infects all 77 counties in Oklahoma. On the border of Arkansas and Texas, McCurtain County is at the center of the continuing struggle to save Oklahomans from this deadly drug.
OETA’s award winning documentary series Stateline takes a look into the violent and dangerous world of the meth addicts who lost everything chasing the next “high.”
Oklahoma’s 2004 meth law put a big dent in the meth trade, but didn’t stop it. Now four years after the new law, Stateline examines its effect and looks to where the drugs are coming from now.
