Programming Adjustments During Festival
Written by Holly on Sunday February 28, 2010
It's Festival time again! OETA's March pledge drive begins tomorrow, March 1st at 7pm. The funds raised during this time will enable OETA to purchase more programming for 2011.
We have a phenomenal number of new programs this year during our pledge drive. (Personally, I'm looking forward to the Michael Buble special on Tuesday, March 9th.) Look to our schedules to find a complete list of the programming coming in the next few weeks.
For those who are concerned about missing your favorite regular program, I've put together some explanations of where the programs have gone and when they're coming back. Here is the first installment...
Monday, March 1st
ANTIQUES ROADSHOW “Madison, WI” – This episode can be seen at 2am Tuesday morning, 4am Wednesday morning and 3am Friday morning. Or, if you don't want to stay up late or record it, you can watch it during primetime on 3/22 at 7pm.
DOLLEY MADISON: AMERICAN EXPERIENCE – This program is being recorded from the PBS feed and will be aired after the pledge drive on Monday, March 22 @ 8pm. If you don't want to wait that long, it can also be seen Wednesday morning, March 3rd at 2am.
MORRISTOWN: WHERE AMERICA SURVIVED -- Can be seen 1:30am Tuesday morning and 3:30am Wednesday morning.
LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE -- We'll pick back up where we left off after Festival, Monday, March 22 at 11pm.
WAITING FOR GOD -- We'll pick back up where we left off after Festival, Monday, March 22 at 11:30pm.
Tuesday, March 2
NOVA “Pluto Files” – This is a fun, new episode of NOVA. I hope you will record it during the overnight hours: 4am on Thursday or Saturday night at midnight. You can also watch it online on the PBS website starting Wednesday. I saw a screener and, I have to say, it might be my favorite episode ever.
FRONTLINE “The Suicide Tourist” -- Can be seen at midnight Tuesday night, 3am on Thursday morning and 1am on Sunday morning
INDENPENDENT LENS “The Eyes of Me” -- Can be seen at 2am on Thursday morning.
Wednesday, March 3
7pm FACES OF AMERICA #104 – This final episode of this series will air in its entirely tonight. We will not have pledge programming during this hour.
8pm NATIONAL PARKS #106 – We will also air this final episode in its entirely, but we'll have an opportunity to become an OETA member at the end (with a special gift for those who join!).
Thursday, March 4
THIS OLD HOUSE HOUR – PBS is feeding new episodes of this series during the entire pledge drive. We’re recording them and we’ll play them after Festival, starting March 25. If you can't wait that long, they can be seen during the overnight hours. Check the online schedule for specific times.
GALLERY/STATELINE – Will return after Festival
GLOBE TREKKER – Will return after Festival
SOUNDSTAGE – This series is on mid-season hiatus and should return in June.
AUSTIN CITY LIMITS – Currently feeding old episodes. We’ll put ACL back in the schedule after Festival.
Stay tuned to the Pipeline Blog for more information on the adjustments to our regular schedule. Until then, enjoy the wonderful programming during Festival 2010!!
