Last of the Summer Wine

LOSWA few years ago, we purchased the broadcast rights to the first ten seasons of LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE. Unfortunately, it was not well received. If there were viewers who were pleased, we didn't hear from them. But we did hear from unhappy viewers who thought the early episodes weren't as well-written or well-produced as Season 11 through 28. As a result, we didn't purchase the broadcast rights to those seasons again. Until now.

Flash forward three years, and we've heard from enough of you who want to see the old episodes that we're going to try doing this again. We've purchased the broadcast rights to ALL episodes of LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE that our BBC distributor has to offer. That's Seasons 1 through 31, plus four Christmas specials, to make a total of 266 episodes!

The broadcast rights begin on Monday, August 31. And, even though it interrupts the current episode order, we're starting from the beginning rather than waiting.

We begin, naturally, with the pilot episode. Clegg (Peter Sallis) is taking flowers to his wife's grave when he stops to chat with the vicar.  Blamire (Michael Bates) and Compo (Bill Owen) meet up with him to reminisce about life, death and tiddlers. This episode also includes the formidable Nora Batty (Kathy Staff), and café owners Sid (John Comer) and Ivy (Jane Freeman).

I hope our LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE viewers are happy about this decision. If so, email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and let us know.
