Written by Holly on Wednesday August 19, 2009
You're about to see a lot more of Filmmaker Ken Burns. The promotion of THE NATIONAL PARKS: AMERICA'S BEST IDEA has begun.
The six-part, 12-hour film by Ken Burns was filmed over the course of six years and shows the history of America's national parks and the people who were willing to devote their lives to saving them. THE NATIONAL PARKS premieres Sunday, September 27 through Friday, October 2 at 7pm each night. If you miss an episode, you can catch a repeat on OKLA the next night at 7pm.
Back to the promotion plan... Ken Burns will be on David Letterman tonight (Wednesday, August 19). But that's just the beginning. You'll also see him on the following as the premiere date of THE NATIONAL PARKS approaches...
- The Today Show on September 25
- CBS Sunday Morning, feature with Harry Smith
- Jimmy Fallon Show
- Colbert Report
- CNN American Morning
- Morning Joe on MSNBC
- This Week with George Stephanopolous
- Charlie Rose
- Tavis Smiley
I've heard Ken Burns speak at various PBS events. He's well worth all the attention he's given. He's a remarkable storyteller and PBS is fortunate to have him.
