Festival 2013 Preemptions

Written by Holly on Friday March 1, 2013

Festival_2013It's Festival time! A time to see some exciting new specials and a time to renew your membership with OETA! (Clicking that "Pledge Now" button at the top will do the trick.)

You probably have some favorite programs that you won't get to see for a while during the pledge drive. We understand that can be disappointing and sometimes frustrating. The following is a list of our most popular programs and an idea of when they're coming back (and whether you're missing anything while they're gone).

Fridays, March 1, 8 and 15

ONR (not preempted) -- Topics covered in the March 1st episode are: Sequestration kicked in on March 1st, forcing automatic across-the-board cuts in the federal budget.  We discuss the reasons for the budget impasse and its effect with Oklahoma U.S. Representative Tom Cole… America’s middle class is shrinking.  A trend that began decades ago is now spiking and Oklahomans are feeling the pressure... Osage County landowners blame the Bureau of Indian Affairs for pollution and environmental hazards… It’s Your Government - consolidation of five state agencies into the Office of Management and Enterprise Services created one big agency and cut costs… As the rural population declines, small town grocery stores are struggling to survive… Home remedies – quick cures that really work… Remembering an Oklahoma actor who was a star in movie and television westerns… We discuss the latest news from the state capitol with Shawn Ashley of eCapitol… And, Ted Streuli of The Journal Record reviews the week in business.
