Gallery has been given special permission to follow a very unique story which will air in November.
There are only 40 Lego Masters in the world and he has held the title. Now, Kurt Zimmerle is using what he calls “the brick” to create his version of Oklahoma City . It’s a special project put together by a venture capitalist to raise money to benefit city children.
Zimmerle has recreated the Skirvin Hotel, the state capitol, the Chase Bank building, Bricktown, the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, complete with a Chihuly exhibit, the National Memorial, the Chesapeake Energy complex, the Bank One building and a host of other city landmark buildings, including a future landmark…the new Devon Tower .
Gallery goes to the construction site that fills a warehouse to follow the progress of this Lego version of Oklahoma City and to talk with the brick artist who spent months building it.
Don’t miss Gallery in November. We don’t use the word “amazing” very often, but in this case, we’ll make an exception. You’ll be amazed by this artist’s work and we’re pretty sure you’ll suddenly discover a burning desire to go buy some Legos.
