Century Chest Opening Event

After 100 years under ground, the time capsule buried on April 22nd, 1913 was unearthed and its contents revealed. Gov. Mary Fallin and OKC Mayor Mick Cornett were on hand along with officials from the Oklahoma Historical Society for the unveiling. The items were in pristine condition; they included newspapers, photographs, a pen from President McKinley, patent leather shoes and a telephone. They will be on display at the Oklahoma History Center. NOTE: The audio is faint until the 30 minute mark. The actual opening of the century chest begins at 1 hour 10 minutes.
