SOC 302 The Science of Composing (27:44)

Studies show close connections with science and music. But just how deep is the connection? State of Creativity follows seven scientists from the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation as they compose original pieces of music for a four-string quartette. Their efforts are part of a challenge to prove the connection between science and music. The catch? The scientists only have ten days to complete the compositions before a live concert. OMRF scientists, along with guidance from Native American composer Jerod Tate, take us on a journey to discover the creativity behind making an original piece of music come to life. Will the OMRF scientist hit the right note with their original compositions?
